Narromine Irrigation Board of Management

Situated in the Macquarie Valley within the Narromine Shire our business is to deliver water throughout the Narromine region. Our challenges are constant in providing access to this precious natural resource and we strive to improve our security and efficiencies with ongoing lobbying, research, education & improved maintenance.

The Narromine Irrigation Board of Management committee held its Inaugural Meeting in 1965 with 150 prospective members in attendance to assist landholders in lobbying the Government for consideration as recipients of water from Burrendong Dam which commenced storing water in April 1965. It officially opened in 1967, with construction of channels & pump installations in 1970. Irrigators began receiving water in February 1971.
